What does it take to make an illustrated video with ConverSketch? Here’s the process:

  • After an initial scoping phone call, I usually ask my clients to put together a bullet list of information they want included in the video script, which I send to my script writer to draft an effective and engaging script to tell your story. Two rounds of revisions are included in the initial scope.

  • The voice over can be done at any time once the script has been approved, by professional talent or someone on your team.

  • Once we've finalized the script, I draft initial black and white outline sketches.

  • We meet via a video call and I walk you through the sequence of the illustrations, and get your feedback to make sure the imagery is exactly what you want and the way you like it. 

  • I re-work the sketches incorporating your feedback and share them with you to make sure your feedback was correctly incorporated.

  • Two rounds of revisions are included in the contract. At this point, if additional revisions are needed, we re-visit the contract to make sure the time line and budget match the work being done.

  • Once you've approved the final storyboard drawings, I practice, practice, practice and prep the materials I'll need to record the video. 

  • I record. This usually takes between 8 and 15 hours in the studio. I can either work with your in-house video production group, or do the filming and editing for you. Project fees reflect whether filming and editing is done by you or me.

  • Editing it all together.

  • A rough cut is sent to you to make sure things are looking good and for feedback on visual timing, audio, and pacing.

  • Final feedback is incorporated, then I send you the final cut.

  • You share that puppy, people are going to love it!
